This year, I’ve been continuing my health journey, focusing on eating better and becoming stronger. With Thanksgiving approaching and Christmas and New Year following closely behind, the season of sweets, rich foods, and celebrations is upon us. And it’s all too easy to get caught up in the abundance of candy, cakes, and holiday treats.
So, I wanted to share my top tip with you! Instead of following a strict diet, I still enjoy all the foods I love, but with a focus on portion control. It’s all about being mindful of how much I eat, not just what I eat. My strategy? The “three-bite rule.”
Here’s how it works: take three bites of whatever treat you’re craving. After those first few bites, your brain gets that rush of feel-good hormones, and your taste buds light up with flavor. But after bite number three, those taste receptors begin to dull. That’s the perfect moment to pause and ask yourself: Do I really need more?
This simple rule lets me satisfy my cravings without derailing my progress. I can still indulge without overindulging.
